Undergraduate Degree in French
Whether you’re just starting to study French, coming to UL from French immersion, or continuing your French education from high school or elsewhere, our undergraduate program will prepare you for using your French in the community and the world.
We will work with you to place you in the right courses for you and your specific background so you get the most out of your studies. You'll start by taking the Advanced Credit Exam to find the perfect level for you.
By the time you graduate, you will be fluent in French, have great writing skills, and be experienced and comfortable interacting with people and ideas from all over the Francophone world.

The undergraduate degree in French is classified as a B.A. in Modern Languages with one of two possible concentrations:
- B.A. in Modern Languages, French and Francophone Concentration — Our most popular option, this concentration prepares you for any career and allows you to choose your minor according to your interests.
- B.A. in Modern Languages, French Education Concentration — This option has the same requirements for the standard French degree, but you must complete a minor in secondary education, which requires more coursework than other minors.
