All students should take the Advanced Credit Exam at the beginning of their studies in French at UL. Taking the exam will allow us to place you in the perfect course for your level. When you complete your first course after taking the exam, you will receive official credit for the previous French courses -- for free!
The French major requires the following:
- 33 credit hours in French beyond the intermediate level (FREN 202)
- Minor: 18 credit hours in a minor, unless you are pursuing the education concentration, which requires the secondary education minor (24 credit hours).
- Exit interview upon completion of your degree. This is an ungraded, informal discussion used for assessment of the program. It is mandatory but does not affect your record in any way.
