Accelerated BA/MA in French

The Accelerated Bachelor's and Master's in French (ABM in French) program allows highly qualified majors to graduate with both a B.A. and an M.A. in French in five years.

To be eligible, students must demonstrate broad academic achievement and the capacity to work at the graduate level; students need a minimum GPA of 3.5 in French courses and a minimum overall GPA of 3.2.

During their fourth year, students will complete three or four 400-level courses with the G (Graduate) designation and for each course fulfill the requirements of the graduate level and earn a grade of A; these three or four courses will count toward the coursework of both the undergraduate degree and the graduate degree. With the exception of these three or four "double-counted" courses, students will complete all requirements for both the Bachelor's and the Master's degrees.
