German
Studies
Welcome
At UL Lafayette it
is possible to take
German as a second major, as a
minor, or as a way of completing the foreign language
requirement. Students take German as a complement to studies
in other languages, in history, in philosophy, and in the sciences, or
simply out of interest in the German language and Germanic literature
and culture. A background in German is also essential for students
interested in Old English and Scandinavian.
Study in Germany and Austria is possible through consortium programs
with other Louisiana universities, and through Goethe Institute/DAAD
fellowships.
