Spanish Club and Sigma Delta Pi

The Spanish Club, an official student group at UL Lafayette, organizes Spanish related cultural and social activities for UL Lafayette students. It furthers the internationalization of our campus by creating a forum in which students of Spanish, as well as those from Spanish speaking countries and heritage speakers of Spanish may all interact. It has sponsored events including art exhibits, lectures, field trips, mural painting and Latin dance lessons in addition to the traditional conversation hour.

Everyone is welcome to Spanish Club activities, regardless of their level of proficiency in Spanish. For more detailed information on organizational structure, please see the Constitution. Contact information for the current Club President and Faculty Advisor is available from the Spanish faculty and the departmental secretary.

UL Lafayette also hosts the Alpha Rho chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the national Spanish honor society.  Sigma Delta Pi offers its members a number of beneficial scholarship, travel, and publication opportunities.  The faculty advisor is Francisca Alonso.
